Company history

BIKE-COMPONENTS.DE is one of the first online-shops for cycling. The idea to create an online store for bike components was born in a living room by Klaus Hoenig and Marcus Wenkel and took shape in 1997. In 1998, just one year later, they opened their first online store: www.bike-components.de.

This was the starting point for a company that, even today, is marked by constant growth. The number of clients and the amount of parts offered increased so fast that it quickly became apparent that the first offices in Aachen, Germany were too small. After just one year, the storage room and the shop on Hirschgraben, rented in 2001, burst at the seams.

With the current premises on Neupforte, the company has found an environment which offers enough space for needed expansion. Today, capacities for storage meet the continually growing demand and provide a pickup point for packages as well as a showroom for bikes of the exclusive VORTRIEB brand.

Currently, BIKE-COMPONENTS.DE employs more than 85 professionals in the divisions of consulting, service, storage keeping, assembly, and shipping. Everyone at BIKE-COMPONENTS.DE does his best to process orders smoothly and strives for the shortest delivery times.
