Featherlight aerodynamics: the Stratus MIPS® Helmet from Bell

This helmet is well-ventilated for long climbs, but still sleek enough for flat surfaces. The integrated Float Fit System offers comfort and safety with a streamlined fit and an oversized dial that is easy to adjust one-handed. The Overbrow Ventilation System guides cooling air through the front and directs it through an air duct network to protect against overheating. Adjustable No-Twist Tri-Glides keep the straps flat and won't slip, no matter what.

Float Fit Race
The new Bell Float Fit Race™ is designed for a tailor-made fit with maximum performance. The fitting system is seamlessly connected to MIPS and offers maximum adjustment possibilities in height, padding width and circumference.

MIPS®
MIPS® is a glide plane system within the helmet designed to slow or reduce the amount of energy transmitted to or from the head. A helmet equipped with MIPS® consists of 3 essential components: the helmet inner shell, a glide plane system and a suspension system made of elastomers. During impact, the inner shell of the helmet dissipates most of the energy. The elastomer-based suspension system allows the sliding plane system to move. Elongation of the elastomers leads to a rotation of the sliding plane system that is independent of the inner shell, and completely encases the head. Although only a few millimetres, this movement can reduce the amount of energy acting on the brain.

No-Twist Tri-Glides
It is all about the details. The strap system is easy to adjust, keeps the straps flat and prevents them from twisting - which also helps to take a few watts off the wind.

In-Mold
EPS foam is injected into the thin microshell while it is still in the mould, instead of forming it and gluing it on separately. This process was first introduced by Bell and is now the standard for all demanding helmets.

Roll Cage
The Roll Cage is a reinforcement made of impact-resistant nylon, which is directly embedded in the EPS foam of the best Bell helmets. An extra level of stability and safety is thus guaranteed.
