Shimano CN-HG901-11 Chain for XTR and Dura-Ace - Version with master link

The Shimano CN-HG901-11 Quick-Link 11-speed chain is assembled with a master link, unlike a previous version. It has SIL-TEC coating on the outer link, inner link and roller, which ensures extreme friction reduction, increased performance and better self-cleaning. Hollow-formed bolts also save weight. CN-HG901-11 chains are premium products for XTR and Dura-Ace groupsets and approved for e-bike use. Caution is advised during installation because of the directional binding.

HG-X11 chains from Shimano are 11-speed chains with directional binding. The outside has been optimised for shifting the chainring, the inside for shifting the cassette. SIL-TEC
SIL-TEC is a fluorine particle-based surface coating from Shimano. It results in smoother, lower friction operation and less contamination. This makes maintenance easier, reduces wear and extends the service life of SIL-TEC components.

Besser geht's kaum - wenn ein Rad schon eine Dura-Ace oder XTR Gruppe hat, sollte man nicht an der Kette sparen. Bin nicht sicher, ob diese länger hält als die billigeren Ketten, aber die Funktion (Gewicht, Schaltvorgänge, leiser Lauf) ist auf jeden Fall perfekt.

Leichte Kette mit QuickLink Verschluss. Die Kette ließ sich einfach montieren. Ich habe noch um ein paar Glieder kürzen müssen, aber auch das war problemlos möglich. Die Kette kommt gut eingefettet in einer Plastikverpackung, auf welcher auch noch einmal explizit auf die Montagerichtung hingewiesen wird. In der Papieranleitung steht dann noch einmal genau beschrieben, wie sich der QuickLink Verschluss montieren und demontieren lässt und wie die Laufrichtung ist. Die Kette und der QuickLink Verschluss müssen laufrichtungsgebunden montiert werden! Achtung: um es ganz richtig zu machen unbedingt die passende Shimano Zange mit bestellen. Sonst ist es bei den 11/12-fach Ketten schwierig den QuickLink Verschluss zu schließen.
Den letzten Stern vergebe ich, wenn Shimano wiederverwendbare QuickLink Verschlüsse mitliefert.
