Technology:

FACT™
FACT is an acronym for " Functional Advanced Composite Technology" and summarises all the expertise that Specialized holds in the field of carbon fibre. It is a holistic approach, which primarily concerns the bike frames, but is found in many components such as handlebars, stems, saddles etc. The starting point is always the awareness for the needs of drivers and the capability to fulfil them. Next, the selection of fibres, resins and fabric layers takes place; in this process the quality of the carbon and the arrangement of the fibre layers play an important role. It is important to find the right set-up for the project at hand and the intended location or rather the area of application. It is often necessary to differentiate from model to model at several points. In the final step, attention is paid to processing the material in a way that allows the desired advantages in terms of low weight, rigidity and stability to be achieved.

Brain
Specialized Brain Technology is a system for the automatic adjustment of the suspension characteristics of shocks and dampers and suspension fork. It will seamlessly switch between hard, tight and soft, active settings, depending on whether the terrain is flat or rough. The bike thinks for you so that you can concentrate entirely on the trail. The technology is located in the rear axle and is based on an inertia valve that blocks the flow of oil when closed, but opens immediately on impact to allow the suspension to engage. Brain naturally distinguishes between shocks from the ground and shocks from the pedal. In its current version, the system, which was first used in 2002, is more durable and requires less maintenance than ever before and also offers a wider, individually adjustable bandwidth between maximum tautness and maximum activity.

Rider-First Engineered™
Rider-First Engineered describes the design approach used by Specialized to precisely match each frame size to the target group. Simply put, smaller frames for smaller riders are built in a different way than larger frames for larger riders. This is done on the basis of performance parameters determined in practical tests, taking into account the forces acting on different areas of the bike when riders of different sizes ride it. Based on this analysis, the optimum tube dimensions and the appropriate carbon fibre covering for the respective frame size are determined. This way you can be sure that no matter what your height is, you will receive a bike that delivers optimal and controllable performance suited to your size.
