The Specialized Turbo Creo SL Comp EVO Carbon Gravel E-bike - Adventurous, light and fast

The Turbo Creo SL Comp EVO complete bike from Specialized is a gravel-optimized E-bike with Shimano GRX 1x11-speed gears, Shimano disc brakes and DT Swiss wheels. It shares its super-light Boost frame made of high-modulus carbon and the weight-optimized SL 1.1 motor with the proven Creo SL E-road bike, but it is much more off-road capable and adventurous. It has 38 mm wide 28" tyres and can also be ridden with up to 47 mm wide 650B tyres. It has a drop seatpost that helps you shift your centre of gravity on difficult descents, and handlebars with 12° flare that aids control even at high speeds. It is equipped with Future Shock 2.0 technology, a spring-based hydraulic damping system which is mounted in the head tube and absorbs bumps without affecting forward drive. The geometry features a longer wheelbase, longer fork travel and lower bottom bracket to ensure perfect handling on changing terrain. The Creo SL Comp EVO gravel bike's 240-watt motor doubles your own pedalling power by providing the most assistance in the most efficient cadence range between 60 and 100 revolutions, and offers no resistance when idling. Thanks to the 320 watt-hour battery, distances of up to 120 kilometres are no problem. This makes you even safer, more agile and smoother on off-road adventures - with a permanent tailwind, so to speak.

Technology:

FACT™
FACT is an acronym for " Functional Advanced Composite Technology" and summarises all the know-how that Specialized has in the use of carbon fibre. It is a holistic approach, which primarily concerns the bike frames, but is found in many components such as handlebars, stems, saddles etc. The starting point is always the awareness for the needs of drivers and the capability to fulfil them. Next, the selection of fibres, resins and fabric layers takes place; in this process the quality of the carbon and the arrangement of the fibre layers play an important role. It is important to find the right set-up for the project at hand and the intended location or rather the area of application. It is often necessary to differentiate from model to model at several points. In the final step, attention is paid to processing the material in a way that allows the desired advantages in terms of low weight, rigidity and stability to be achieved.

Future Shock 2.0
The Future Shock 2.0 System is an adjustable hydraulic damping system for road and gravel bikes developed by Specialized in collaboration with McLaren Applied Technologies. It is based on a cartridge with several springs, which is used in the head tube. When you ride over a bump in the road, it offers up to 20 mm of travel - in a vertical direction to be specific. This results in a shock-absorbing effect without - as would be the case with horizontal compliance - any loss of speed. You stay fast, but ride more comfortably, especially on long distances. Numb hands and tired arms are prevented, which in turn increases performance. Compared to suspension fork systems, Future Shock also has the advantage that the geometry of the wheel and thus the handling can remain unchanged.

E-Bikes by Specialized
Specialized E-bikes are designed in California and developed with Swiss technology. They follow the " It's you, only faster" approach, which means that you have the impression of riding a " normal" bike without motor assistance, but with at least twice as much power. Specialized E-bikes are characterised by a particularly quiet, smooth running electric drive. Due to two special freehub bodies, the crankset and motor shaft are decoupled from each other in such a way that no additional pedalling resistance occurs when the motor is switched off (at speeds above 25 km/h). The battery of Specialized electric bikes is aesthetically and well protected integrated in the down tube. An innovative Battery Management System (BMS) is used to maximise battery life and protect the cell structure. The bike communicates with the rider via the so-called. The bike communicates with the rider via the Turbo Connect Unit (TCU), which connects via Bluetooth and ANT+ to a Turbo Connect display, third-party devices and/or the Specialized Mission Control app. This offers additional options such as route planning, route recording or automatic capacity management.
