Specialized Turbo Levo Expert E-MTB - more power with an ample range

The Specialized Turbo Levo Expert 29" E-bike combines a light carbon main frame with an agile aluminium rear triangle and comes equipped with extra power. It features the highly efficient and very compact 2.1 motor, which can boost your pedal input by over 400%, as well as a particularly powerful 700 Wh battery. 5 hours of driving are always possible. And to make sure the Turbo Levo rushes along the descends and sprints up the climbs, it was designed with a low centre of gravity, shorter chainstays, an extended reach and flatter head tube angle but steeper seat tube angle. Suspension elements from Fox and the SRAM Eagle components complete the E-bike's assembly. You can also use the Specialized Mission Control App to tailor it even more to your individual needs.

Technology:

FACT™
FACT is an acronym for " Functional Advanced Composite Technology" and summarises all the know-how that Specialized has in the use of carbon fibre. It is a holistic approach, which primarily concerns the bike frames, but is found in many components such as handlebars, stems, saddles etc. The starting point is always the awareness for the needs of drivers and the capability to fulfil them. Next, the selection of fibres, resins and fabric layers takes place; in this process the quality of the carbon and the arrangement of the fibre layers play an important role. It is important to find the right set-up for the project at hand and the intended location or rather the area of application. It is often necessary to differentiate from model to model at several points. In the final step, attention is paid to processing the material in a way that allows the desired advantages in terms of low weight, rigidity and stability to be achieved.

FSR
The Specialized FSR linkage design is based on a four-joint design with Horst Link in the chainstay, which separates the seatstay from the main pivot point of the rear triangle. This allows the pedal and brake force to be decoupled from the suspension, so that the compression and rebound are solely dependent on the nature of the terrain. This not only converts more energy into froward drive which is direct and without rocking, but also leads to more traction and thus more control. In addition, the FSR system can be fine-tuned to all the possible areas of applications and terrains.

E-Bikes by Specialized
Specialized E-bikes are designed in California and developed with Swiss technology. They follow the approach " It's you, only faster" , which means that you have the impression of riding a " normal" bike without the support of a motor, but with at least twice as much power. Specialized E-bikes are characterised by a particularly quiet, smooth running electric drive. Due to two special freehub bodies, the crankset and motor shaft are decoupled from each other in such a way that no additional pedalling resistance occurs when the motor is switched off (at speeds above 25 km/h). In addition, the motor is instructed by a sophisticated software to always amplify your pedal stroke in the most favourable way. Depending on the area of application of the E-bike, the engine tuning is suited more to trails or more to city traffic. The heat dissipation via thermal pads between the engine and frame counteracts overheating and extends the life of the system.
The battery from Specialized electric bicycles is integrated into the down tube in a way that is aesthetically pleasing and well-protected. It can either remain in the frame or it can be removed for charging. An innovative Battery Management System (BMS) is used to maximise battery life and protect the cell structure. Some models allow the range to be extended with an additional Range Extender battery. The bike communicates with the rider via the so-called Turbo Connect Unit (TCU), which displays the current support mode and battery status, or via the Turbo Connect Display. These can be paired with other devices via Bluetooth and ANT+. The Specialized Mission Control App also offers additional options such as route planning, route recording or automatic capacity management.
