Thomson's Masterpiece represents the maximum achievable in aluminium seatposts and is often used for comparison when testing other seatposts. Thomson's Masterpiece is the measure of all things in terms of precision, adjustability, weight and above all stability. Compared to the Thomson Elite, the Masterpiece has been reduced in weight by another 40 grams with the same dimensions, without any loss in other areas. This was achieved in particular by means of further machining, in which load-oriented milling operations were carried out. Made from a single piece of 7000-series aircraft aluminium, the Masterpiece features a seamless, internally-ovalized shaft that integrates the precision-milled head. The 41mm wide saddle seat is forged and prevents bending and buckling of the saddle rails at high load peaks.
