First off, bike-components once again provided fast shipping and first class support. This Deuter Race Air backpack provides great initial impressions. For those that know Deuter bags, the mesh back Air System, is really, really cool. The zippers (YKK!) are high quality and the seams are reinforced. This pack will be able to handle being stuffed to the brim with my commuter equipment. Laptop, phone, keys, rainjacket, workclothes, bike tools, spare tube, etc. all fit in, snugly with little room to spare. That being said, spend the extra 5 on the EXP model and you can have more room if you need it. As is this pack will haul all the stuff I need for the trips where jersey pockets are too small, but not too much so that I end up taking more junk than I need and weigh down my back. This pack, even loaded, really is light enough to forget wearing.

Only downside really is the size. I'm a bit of a clydesdale and I would have liked to see a much long shoulder strap. As is this backpack in its loosest position is still kind of tight on my wide back and difficult to remove. I can't reach the side pockets in any position so accessing water bottles requires removal. The water blatter costs extra, and so does the helmet holder (although this is included in the EXP model).

All in all this is a well thought out bike backpack, and if it wasn't for the short straps, easily a 5 star product.
