**Bike-components get a 5 star rating for price and customer support**

I bought a set of wheels which had the Hope Pro 4 hubs.
These are great hubs, but the Wheelset came with the aluminium Shimano freewheel body...

The Aluminium body got gauged and cut up by my SRAM Eagle NX cassette within 3 months, around 1200km. It took me around 20minutes just to get the cassette off the hub. I'm a 97kg rider with kit.

So I ordered the steel free hub body, which turns out isn't black but silver, and is also non-magnetic steel. It weighs roughly 90 gram more than the Alu one. I've not ridden it much, about 400km, and noticed notches from the cassette digging into the splines. Not as severe as with the aluminium body, but it's certainly not hard steel like that of my replaced stock Specialized Roval wheels. That freehub body has hardly any paint worn off by the cassette let alone indentations.

So now I'm on my third Hope Pro 4 freehub, the XD driver version. I've ditched the NX cassette which I actually quite like due to it's long lasting steel teeth, and moved to GX. Installation was easy, although one has to remove the drive side hub end cap for installation and removal of the cassette, which turns out is annoyingly tricky.

I'm really disappointed in the weak material chosen for the Shimano free bodies, especially considering how common Shimano cassettes have loose individual rings.
