In 1919, Angelo Luigi Colombo founded a company in Italy that specialized in the manufacture of steel tubes for special applications. Besides making tubes for bicycle construction, the manufacturer led by company founder Colombo soon ventured into the realms of aviation and motorsport to deploy its bespoke steel tubes there as well. It wasn't until 1930 that the company name COLUMBUS was established, and since then, it has increasingly produced tubes for the furniture industry. Since 1977, the company has completely focused on the bicycle industry and continuously develops its tubing sets, allowing the world's most renowned manufacturers to build better, more comfortable, and lighter bikes. Nowadays, the brand with the dove is known as the benchmark in terms of tubing sets for bicycle frames.
