Born as a company to serve the ski racing market in 2005, POC quickly extended its range to the cycling world. The Swedish brand has become known over the years for their high-quality arm and knee guards as well as helmets for roadies and mountain bikers.
The three letters POC stand for Point of Contact. That’s no surprise, as the company originates from the same country as Volvo, the car brand that is renowned for its safety. POC has the mission to do the best they can to possibly save lives and to reduce the consequences of accidents for gravity sports athletes and cyclists.
In 2014, POC began a three-year partnership to become the official helmet and eyewear supplier of the Cannondale-Garmin Pro Cycling team. At the same time, it introduced AVIP. This stands for Attention, Visibility, Interaction and Protection, an initiative promoting safety for road cyclists. To achieve higher levels of performance, POC also founded WATTS Lab, bringing together knowledge from specialists in aerodynamics whose objective is to optimize POC products, allowing the cyclist to go faster, while using less energy.
Whether its helmets, body armour, eyewear or apparel, POC offers premium products for mountain bikers and road cyclists that maximize protection, featuring a unique, minimalistic style.
