DT Swiss FR 1500 Classic 30 Boost 29" wheels for freeride and DH - strong partners for new lines

The DT Swiss FR 1500 Classic 29 inch wheelset with Boost hubs impresses in demanding gravity use thanks to its outstanding resilience, puncture resistance and low weight. Its secret is the 30 mm wide aluminium rim, which takes load distribution into account in extreme situations and thus improves handling. Compared to its predecessor FR 1950, its profile has been reinforced in certain areas to offer optimum impact resistance for freeride and downhill. In addition, the rim flanges are shaped to minimise the risk of tyre punctures. The use of fewer spokes on the front wheel - 28 double-butted J-Bend spokes compared to 32 on the rear wheel - reduces the weight of the wheelset, which benefits acceleration and reactivity. Central are the race-proven, lightweight 240 6-bolt disc hubs with Ratchet-EXP-36 freehub, known for its fast engagement and ease of maintenance. Suitable for use on extremely steep and rough terrain with very large jumps or drops at speeds above 40 km/h. Extremely good bike handling skills required. May also be used in bike parks and on DH trails. After each ride, due to the very high load, it is imperative to check for possible damage in order to prevent failure on the next ride. Possibly shortened service life due to extreme use.

Pro Lock
The nipple thread is coated with two-component adhesive to increase the durability of the wheels. It can still be re-trued several times without any problems, but the adhesive strength decreases slightly. The connection between the spoke and nipple cannot loosen by itself.

Ratchet EXP
A ratchet and a threaded ring are integrated into the hub. This reduces the number of components required, resulting in less wear and tear and a lower weight. In addition, the heavy-duty and reliable ratchet system can be easily and quickly maintained. The no-tool concept plays a decisive role, as it allows the freehub to be replaced without any tools. The freehub has two ratchets which engage simultaneously. This means that the contact surface is large and the point load is kept small, which relieves the material and allows the freehub to work particularly reliably and precisely.
