Park Tool 2197 diamond abrasive – accessory tool for carbon brake mounts
The Park Tool 2197 diamond abrasive is an accessory for the Park Tool DT-5 and DT-5.2 disc brake mount facing tool sets. It is specifically designed for working on disc brake mounts on carbon frames and allows the mounting surface to be faced evenly and in a controlled way. The brazed diamond grit surface is highly effective on carbon fibres and significantly more durable than a standard cutter. The abrasive sits between the DT-5.2 cutter and the brake mount, gently sanding the surface until it is flat and correctly aligned with the brake rotor. The 2197 is not intended for aluminium, steel or titanium mounts; it can be used on carbon/aluminium hybrid mounting surfaces.
