An ingenious invention: the PIT Stopper by Pitlock


Anti-theft device for all bicycle components that are fastened with hex bolts. Pit Stoppers prevent unauthorised unscrewing. The Pit Stoppers can only be removed with a special screw (an unlocking aid). Hex openings remain intact.

    Einfache und günstige Methode, Gelegenheitsdiebe abzuhalten. Schnell den Einsatz in die Sattelschraube geklopft, jetzt muss ich mir keine übermäßigen Sorgen mehr machen. Nur spontane Anpassungen der Sitzposition sind ohne weiteres natürlich nicht mehr möglich, erst muss der Schutz wieder demontiert und anschließend neu eingesetzt werden. Entsprechend nicht so komfortabel wie teurere Lösungen, aber eben technisch viel einfacher und dadurch billiger. Für mich tuts das, wer mehr Flexibilität will, muss mehr investieren.

    Ich musste erst bei Pitlock anrufen um dieses hier zu verstehen: man dreht/presst/verkeilt mithilfe der abgebildeten Spezialschraube (Sondergewinde) die beiden Klemmeinsätze in die Öffnungen der Sattelbefestigungsinbusschrauben (ein typisch deutsches Wort).
    So kann kein normaler Inbus mehr benutzt werden zum Lösen der Schrauben.
    Ohne diese Schraube kein Sattel App.

    Nette Diebstahlsicherungslösung für allerlei Inbus-Zeugs. Ich habe damit meinen Sattel gesichert. Schützt aber sicher nur vor Gelegenheitsdieben, die Profis werden sicher bald alle mit einer Handvoll Blechschrauben ausgestattet sein. Wie ich besagte Schraube verwahre und im "Ernstfall" wieder finde, muss ich noch herausfinden.
