VBC (Variable Bolt Circle) chainrings from White Industries have a variable bolt circle diameter. For this purpose, the team in California has provided the outer chainring with five radially-running receptacles for the inner chainring, which allows the combination of outer and inner chainrings independent of the bolt circle. White Industries recommends a difference of at least 10 and a maximum of 24 teeth between the inner and outer chainring. In this way, both MTB and road bike gradations can be realised.
