This oval 1-speed chainring by absoluteBLACK was specially designed for SRAM Eagle transmission drives. It features a special Narrow-Wide tooth profile that works perfectly with the T-Type chains. These are narrower than conventional chains because the distance between the outer and inner plates is smaller, and they have more generously dimensioned rollers. That is why the teeth of the absoluteBLACK T-Type chainring are generally thinner and the spaces between the teeth are more pronounced. In addition, there are specific features that ensure good self-cleaning, such as a horizontal channel on the wide teeth and a specific modification in the area closest to the back of the crank arm. This optimally repels mud, sand and dirt, which is particularly important for narrow chains. The premium quality aluminium chainring is compatible with SRAM XX SL, XX, X0 Eagle Transmission and other cranks with Direct Mount 8-bolt mounts. It has an offset of 3 mm - like the original from SRAM - so it is suitable for a 55 mm chainline. Thanks to the oval shape, you optimise your pedalling movement, reduce the strain on your knees and move forward faster.

Technology:

Oval Chainrings
Oval chainrings follow the natural physiology of humans. They maximise pedalling power the moment it is developed and minimise resistance when it is not. As a result, oval chainrings allow the rider to pedal more smoothly and stay loose on the climb.
In fact, your pedal stroke will feel " rounder" with an oval chainring than with a round chainring.
Compared to round chainrings, oval chainrings address more muscle groups - but each of them to a lesser degree. The total load of pedalling is therefore distributed over a larger muscle mass and the knees are less strained.
This has three advantages: 1. The legs remain fresher and more relaxed. 2. You can go uphill faster. 3. Spreading the load over more muscles reduces the susceptibility to cramps, even with great effort. Ultimately this will increase your riding pleasure. For MTB applications, the rear wheel traction is increased on loose and slippery surfaces, allowing you to make better progress on demanding terrain.
