Just as with tune wheels, the hub body is also the focus of the stainless tamper, as an original MAG-150 hub body including carbon wrapping is used as the tamper handle. The cap is also made of carbon and is used, together with the black anodized aluminum screw, on the GumGum Ahead Expander. The high-quality, flat stainless steel base plate gives the tamper a pleasant heaviness and ensures good weight distribution. The diameter of the base plate is slightly larger than 58 mm, which ensures that no coffee grounds are left "unpressed" at the edge of the sieve, allowing the water to flow through the grounds at a constant pressure.
