In 1919, Angelo Luigi Colombo founded a company in Italy that focused on manufacturing steel tubes for specialised applications. In 1930, the name COLUMBUS was finally born. During this period, the tubes were produced not only for the bike sector, but increasingly for the furniture industry too.
