The all-round genius: the Cross King II folding tyre by Continental

The new Cross King II fills the gap between Race and Mountain King II. Super fast and yet extremely grippy, the X-King was developed together with the Topeak Ergon MTB professional team. Despite pronounced lugs it rolls extremely smoothly and super quiet. Whether solo or team - with Race and Mountain King II the X-King covers a huge range of applications from Cross Country race to All Mountain.

Technology:

Performance
Performance tyres are for the ambitious racer. Solid materials and precise processing guarantee excellent quality.

PureGrip
On the basis of the activated silica compound, the company worked purposefully towards a compound technology in the Performance segment. The result of the Korbach research and development department, after intensive development work, produced a new compound technology with excellent grip and rolling properties. The new rubber compound, with the self-explanatory name " Pure Grip" , joins the ranks behind the BlackChili compound and is used in performance products in the Road and Mountain bike segments. Here it ensures long lasting traction and high mileage of Continental tyres.

ECO 25
The tyres with Continental ECO technology benefit from over 100 years of experience in the development of moped and motorcycle tyres. Optimised and recommended for E-bikes up to 25 km/h, they guarantee low rolling resistance and good puncture protection thanks to their particularly high-quality construction. The durability was tested especially for E-bikes to counteract the premature wear and tear caused by the additional driving force.

Good grip on different surfaces, good self-cleaning.
Rolling resistance noticeably higher than of older Black Chili Protection model, however knobs stay intact contrary to ripping-off Black Chili knobs.
Hard to mount on rim.
And the biggest "-": easily loose its geometry after 1-2 mounts. Older X-Kings with high TPI specs had the same problem. Shame on Conti for not solving this issue in the new generation of tyres!
