This spoke is butted in its centre using a cold-forging process, making it lighter and stronger. In an even more complex process, it is flat-forged to optimise its aerodynamic properties while simultaneously increasing its material strength. The DT Aero Comp® guarantees a balance between rigidity, aerodynamics and durability. This spoke fits to hubs with standard holes. The straight pull version is optimally designed for straight pull hubs and offers even greater durability. At a reasonable price, this spoke offers a very good return on investment.
The central part of the spoke is forged flat for better aerodynamics. A combination of butted and bladed spokes makes it possible to the meet ever-increasing demands for strength and weight reduction.
Double Butted:
These spokes have two different diameters. The spoke is partially butted by cold forging. As a result, the diameter is smaller and thus enables a reduction in weight while at the same time improving the strain values.
Straight Pull:
In order to achieve an ideal weight/stability ratio, many DT Swiss wheels use different kinds of straight pull spokes. Straight pull spokes do not need a spoke bend and thus eliminate a weak point. Nevertheless, they can be trued and replaced with standard tools.
