Particularly weight-saving: the Complete Axle Ring Assembly by Rohloff
With the internal gear mech, the shift cables run from the shift lever to the cable guide. The hub is controlled by a shift cable integrated into the hub. The connection of bowden cables and shift cables is done via two bayonet connectors, which allow for a quick and easy separation for wheel removal.
The internal shift control is fitted to all Rohloff Speedhub 500/14 versions that do not have the EX or DB designation. It requires a fastening point for the cable guides on the frame at a distance of at least 240 mm from the rear axle. A combination with disc brake on the rear wheel is not possible, as the shift cables touch the brake rotor. The internal gear mech is the lighter variant.
The external gear mech and the internal gear mech are available separately. This makes it easy to convert to the other gear mech in each case.
