Zipp 808 Firecrest Carbon Tubeless Center Lock Disc Wheelset - Faster and lighter than ever before<\/h2>
The 808 Firecrest® Disc wheelset from Zipp for time trial and triathlon use has an 80 mm high and 23 mm wide hookless tubeless rim made of carbon. It weighs over 300 grams less than the previous model and makes you faster than ever thanks to TSE™ technology. The Firecrest rim profile with ABLC SawTooth™ pattern ensures top aerodynamics and the ZR1 hubs leave nothing to be desired in terms of durability and frictional connection. The 808 Firecrest wheels are designed for tyres from 25 mm width and are best ridden without an inner tube, although it is also possible to mount tubeless-ready tyres with an inner tube.

Through the pioneering use of software to analyse numerical fluid mechanics and the power of a supercomputer, Zipp is able to understand exactly what makes wheels go fast. Zipp then tests the most promising rim shapes in the wind tunnel and on the road. This process led to the creation of Firecrest rim technology, which allows the wheel's airflow and centre of gravity to be controlled more effectively, resulting in better aerodynamics, better handling in crosswinds and an overall better cycling experience.
ABLC SawTooth™
This patented rim shape achieves what conventional aero wheels cannot: it simultaneously reduces aerodynamic drag and lateral wind forces, providing the ultimate AeroBalance™. In addition, the ABLC recesses ensure improved air flow. The result is lower aerodynamic drag and reduced lateral wind forces at any angle of attack. This is important because the steeper the wind angle, the larger the influence on the handling of the bike.
