tubus Porte-Bagages Vega Classic

After several months of use, the Tubus Vega Classic has met and even exceeded my expectations. From the moment you receive it, it makes an excellent first impression: it arrives very well packaged, with every component carefully protected, and the manufacturing quality is immediately evident. The finish is impeccable, the welds are clean, and the rack feels exceptionally solid, something that's hard to find in other racks in this category.

Installation was straightforward, with every part fitting precisely. Once mounted, the rack is completely rigid, with no flex or rattling, even when carrying loads close to its maximum capacity. It is lightweight yet remarkably strong. What I like most is its clean, minimalist design, which doesn't look bulky or detract from the appearance of a gravel bike. I also appreciate that it allows the installation of a rear reflector, which is essential for everyday urban riding.

The only downside I have noticed is that the black finish can wear over time where the panniers rub against the rack if no protection is used. To prevent this, I wrapped the contact areas with Isolierband (electrical insulation tape). I use Ortlieb panniers, which fit perfectly, although they do leave marks on the load-bearing contact points, which is completely normal.

I have also read comments from some users who feel that the rack should include lower pannier rails to position the bags lower. For my daily commuting and touring use, however, I have not found this to be an issue.

Stylischer Gepäckträger, der bislang absolut solide ist. Leider nutzt sich die schwarze Oberfläche durch Gepäcktaschen sehr schnell ab - mit der Folge, dass es an der Stelle rostet. Für einen Gepäckträger dieser Preisklasse ist das alles andere als toll. Ich habe das Teil vielleicht gerade mal ein halbes Jahr.

Auch die durchsichtigen Schutzfolien von tubus, die man xtra kaufen kann und die das eigentlich verhindern sollen, taugten gar nichts und waren nach kürzester Zeit durch.

Habe diesen Gepäckträger an meinem (Stahlrahmen-)Rennrad verbaut und bin absolut zufrieden. Ich wollte mir erst den Fly holen, bin dann aber doch zum Vega gekommen wegen der doppelten Strebenbefestigung, die noch mehr Steifigkeit verspricht. Den Belastungstest meistert dieser Träger ohne Probleme. Selbst bei 25 kg auf einer Seite verwindet sich nichts. Top!

Die Montage brauch etwas Zeit, ist aber stabil und dafür hat man dann einen neuen Freund fürs Leben.

Für Rahmen ohne Aufnahme an den oberen Hinterbaustreben nicht das Schellenadapterset vergessen (spreche aus Erfahrung!).
