#ourseasonwithliteville: Amin’s Liteville 901 MK3 Downhill bike

My 901 is a speed demon on every Downhill track. Every time I ride it, I am surprised at just how awesome it really is.

To have the best performance for Downhill races and bike park shredding, I decided to build up a Liteville 901 MK3 bike. Liteville’s years of experience sending their bikes through World Cup races have culminated in the MK3 version of the 901 and it easy to see. Technically advanced and a dream to look at, this bike is a rocket on the way down.

Frame features

The frame has 210 mm of travel in the back, 27.5” tyres and endless possibilities to adjust the geometry to make it perfect to race every Downhill track. The slack head tube angle and long reach all match my riding style, helping me shave off a few more seconds. I’m a huge fan of raw, so I had to have it on the 901 as well.

The suspension

In the front I’ve put a new Marzocchi 58, with various improvements that FOX has done to it. I’m really pumped to be riding Marzocchi again. In the past, I’ve ridden the 888 and 66 fork , so riding the new 58 is super nostalgic. The back end gets a RockShox Vivid Air rear shock, which is well-known in the Downhill circuit. Its large air chamber make it perfect for the 901’s frame.

Lots of travel for the heavy hits.

The drivetrain

My drivetrain is a mix of parts from the SRAM 7-speed GX and the X0 7-speed groupsets. This way I could have combine both top performance without breaking the bank. From my previous experience, I know that SRAM DH groupsets are extremely reliable, letting me focus on the course. Outfitted with the crankbrothers Mallet DH pedals and MarshGuard Slapper Tape, my 901 is ready to rock.

A clean DH drivetrain.

The brakes

Because I put a lot of trust in SRAM products, I decided to get some brakes from them as well. When racing Downhill, I need brakes that can stop me at the highest of speeds and the Guide RSC are those brakes. The power and modulation are top-notch, which is exactly what I need.

The polished silver looks real good with the raw frame.

The wheels & tyres

I built up the 901 with DT Swiss EX1501 wheels. These wheels are also ridden by Richie Rude and Jared Graves in the Enduro World Series so they can definitely take a beating. Lightweight, at 1775 g, and extremely stiff, these wheels are my Downhill companions. I love riding the Onza Ibex tyres, which always have more to give as well as having high puncture protection. To decrease the possibility of a flat, I’ve also put CushCore tyre inserts and Peaty’s Tubeless Sealant in the tyres.

The last bits

I’ve got a set of Syntace Vector Carbon stem and ODI grips, hammering down the hardest courses isn’t a problem. To complete the build, I’ve added a Fabric Scoop Pro saddle, a Trickstuff Gandhi clamp and frame protection stickers by All Mountain Style.

Super nice Scoop saddle.

A top-quality Downhill bike

This the perfect Liteville 901 build, which is already serving me well this season. I have never sat on a faster bike and every ride I go on, I lose myself in the speed and agility of the entire package!
