Good pedals for a city bike, especially if you like wearing supple shoes. The grip from the griptape is adequate although the tape wears out after some years. The tape can be pulled off and replaced by grip tape from a skate shop. The concave shape helps to keep your feet in place.
The bearings are really good, I've got more than 20k on mine.
These pedals are made by VP Components, a huge Asian pedal manufacturer. The XLC PD-C10 Platform Pedals, also on this site, are the same pedals. The XLC PD-C13 Platform Pedals have inferior cup-and-cone bearings that wear out quickly.
