The design of the zones for upshifting and downshifting the chain was researched down to the smallest detail using mathematical calculations that simulate the possible chain movements on the chainrings and outline their ideal angles. In addition, repeated laboratory tests to increase the speed and precision of the derailleur shifting performance ensured final optimisation. The individual tooth profiles of the chainrings are designed to provide maximum performance and, in combination with the 11-speed chain, make a perfect ensemble with the specially shaped front derailleur. The latter is able to move the chain extremely quickly and precisely from one chainring to the other, even under load. The secret of the amazing success lies in the perfect combination and integration of all drive components: every single one of them has been designed to work and function flawlessly with the others.
