Road cycling is a cycling discipline that embodies performance and speed. With its sleek design, lightweight materials and narrow tyres, the road bike is the ideal tool for speed lovers, both on the road and in races and training. The fascination of road cycling lies in the technology that aims to minimise aerodynamic drag, maximise efficiency and propel the rider forward with every pedal stroke. Aerodynamic frames, carbon components and special wheels all contribute to the performance.

Are you ready to pick up the pace and dive into the world of speed? Then join us on this exciting journey into the fascinating world of road cycling.

Bikes & Frames

"The distinction between pure aero road bikes and lightweight climbing bikes is still present at the Tour, but with modern road bikes, these boundaries are becoming increasingly blurred. Models like the Factor Ostro or the Specialized Tarmac SL7 can be found at the front of the peloton in both flat sprint stages and mountain-top finishes. A high degree of aerodynamics and low weight no longer automatically mean discomfort. Thanks to generous tyre clearance, most wheels can now be fitted with tyres up to 32 mm wide. The targeted use of different carbon fibres and tube cross-sections allows for targeted flexibility and thus comfort in the desired places without compromising stiffness when sprinting."

Drivetrain & Groupsets

"Are you looking for an inexpensive wear part that will breathe new life into your drivetrain? Or do you want to make your bike lighter with an upgrade and take your performance to the next level? You might also be interested in a completely new fancy groupset that allows you to quickly change gears electronically at the touch of a button! The drivetrain is the heart, the engine room of your bike, so do something good for your bike and provide it with high-quality components. Here you'll find exactly what your bike needs to keep performing at its best."

Wheels & Tyres

Wheels

"The choice of wheels can have a significant influence on the handling of your bike. Therefore, there is great potential for optimisation if you select the right wheels according to the profile of your route and your personal strengths and weaknesses. Lightweight, weight-optimised wheels make climbing easier and allow for easier acceleration. However, this is often at odds with a deep aerodynamic profile, which allows for higher top speeds and increases efficiency on flat routes. As a powerful rider, you should also not underestimate aspects such as dynamics and control of a particularly stiff wheel. Find the right compromise that suits your needs."

Tyres

"The importance of the two tiny points of contact with the road cannot be overestimated when you want to achieve a good riding experience. Here you need to find the right compromise between predictable grip, the lowest possible rolling resistance, puncture resistance and weight to suit your needs. Did you know that there are also road tyres that are made for use without an inner tube with an appropriate wheel and sealant? This works really well, especially for cyclists who cycle regularly, and offers advantages in terms of comfort and puncture resistance."

Apparel

"Clothing has a direct influence on the performance of our body. With an outfit that is well suited to the conditions, you can make it easier for your body to manage its natural temperature and thus reach your full potential. The demanding topography of the Tour de France makes the pros reach deep into their bag of tricks and will certainly have one or two surprises in store for the athletes this year as well. The optimal fit is just as crucial as the right mix of materials and the combination of different layers."

Nutrition

"Every stage of the Tour is tough, but the biggest challenge is the length of the Tour and the resulting constant strain on the athletes' bodies. Consequently, the optimal and individually tolerated supply of urgently needed nutrients is just as important as personal hygiene. For many long days in the saddle, there are chamois creams that act as skin care, keep the skin supple and usually have an antibacterial effect."
