A real racing tyre for real racers: the Ikon 29" Folding Tyre by Maxxis
It has a large volume, is fast, all with plenty of grip - the Ikon delivers exemplary performance on a wide range of ground conditions, from hard to loose surfaces.
On rocks and roots, even when it's humid, the 3C and eXCeption versions are particularly impressive. For very rough, rocky terrain, the Ikon is also available in the EXO Protection version, which safely guards the sidewalls with little extra weight.
Note from the manufacturer:
Maxxis strongly advises against the use of ammonia-based sealant. Ammonia has been proven to attack the carcass and can weaken it by up to 30% after only a few months, depending on the amount used.
Guidelines for replacing E-bike components:Before you replace components on your e-bike, please read through the guidelines for component replacement for CE-marked e-bikes/pedelecs with pedal assistance.

At Maxxis, the 3C tread is moulded from 3 different rubber compounds in one piece and is not subsequently assembled from two strips. Therefore, the treads can be shaped exactly according to the requirements of the respective tyre model, thus optimising the riding characteristics.
Maxxis's fastest 3C compound, for XC and some All Mountain/Enduro tyres, was designed with a hard base and a fast compound in the middle of the tread to have the lowest rolling resistance. However, with the grippy compound along the sides of the tyre it also offers superior grip in corners, even in the wet. Its long durability is also a typical feature for Maxxis.
This extremely cut and abrasion resistant material protects the sidewalls of various Maxxis MTB tyres. It is very tightly woven, light and very flexible. As a result, the performance of the tyres remains convincingly good.
Tubeless tyres have many advantages: you can ride with less air pressure. This gives better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there is no tube, the risk of punctures is reduced. Maxxis TR tyres are better prepared for mounting with sealant than other " tubeless ready" tyres. The bead of the Maxxis TR tyres is completely covered with a rubber layer like a real UST tubeless tyre. As a result, tubeless mounting is successful for all rims with standard dimensions even during the first inflation and with little liquid.
