Developing a triathlon saddle is an enormous challenge. The goal of SQlab was to relieve the perineal area as much as possible, to keep the weight of the saddle as low as possible and to give biomechanically optimal power development using the correct form of support. The saddle nose, which is important for guidance in curves and at high speeds, should be retained at all costs.

Technology:

Marathonfoam
Due to its large-volume grid structure, Marathonfoam has a high proportion of closed air chambers. This results in a spring characteristic that provides comfort with thin layers of padding that are otherwise only achieved with large-volume, thickly-padded saddles. Thanks to the high air content, the specific weight is kept extremely low. Even with high, long-lasting loads, the padding always remains taut. Due to the closed structure, no water can penetrate into the padding.

K18
K18 is a modern high-tech functional material. SQlab R&D has determined it to be the best material for bicycle saddles. Initially, SQlab only equipped sportier top models with it. Later on, K18 was also used on the 610 models and on 602 and 602 active touring saddles.

Saddle Width System
Many SQlab saddles are available in different widths, because " buying a saddle is like buying shoes" - the size has to be right! The most important thing with the saddle is that both seat bones sit completely on the saddle.

SQ-Shore
SQ-Shore is the unit for the upholstery hardness of the saddle. SQlab saddles are available in 30-70 SQ-Shore. The higher the shore, the harder the saddle.
