Braking can have different meanings. For the Code, braking means being fast enough to win the downhill world championship or tackle the steepest alpine descents. Or whizzing down a single-trail uphill - thanks to the new E-mountain bike options. The Code is the right tool to slow down riders who ride harder, faster and more intensively. It uses the proven SRAM Guide design and also its technologies. With the larger PiggyBack™ reservoir and a caliper with four larger diameter pistons, it offers consistent and reliable performance for all heavy duty applications. The Bleeding Edge™ technology makes maintenance very easy.
The Code RSC consists of the elements that made the Guide a flagship model in brake design and performance, and offers 15% more power to excel in all heavy-duty applications. SwingLink™ and ball-bearing levers provide a soft and progressive feel to the lever, while the 30% increase in positive oil flow guarantees consistent performance even when braking harder and more frequently or when the mass to be slowed down is greater.

Technology:

Bleeding Edge™:
Bleeding Edge™ technology enables quick and easy brake bleeding. Thanks to the special fluid channel and specially designed bleeding vent, the fluid can be pumped through the caliper more easily. A special adapter can be fitted to the bleed port and seals the system to prevent air ingress and fluid loss.

TPC Plus™ (Timing Port Closure):
The synchronisation port of a hydraulic brake is the connection between the reservoir and the master cylinder bore. When the lever is operated, a cup seal passes through this area and closes the opening, putting the system under pressure. SRAM's new TPC Plus™ synchroniser port closure system features durable seals and an ultra-soft cylinder bore surface for reliable and consistent braking performance.

Expandable Bladder:
SRAM's brake lever design includes a new bladder shape that allows air bubbles to be regulated and reduced. The bladder is specially shaped to pump air out of the lever and transport the liquid to exactly where it is needed. The result is improved back pressure relief for reliable and consistent braking performance.

PiggyBack™ Reservoir:
The brake fluid reservoir in SRAM's current lever design is designed for optimum performance and easy handling. The PiggyBack™ reservoir offers a simple and safe solution for checking brake fluid and also allows the levers to be mounted on both sides - so you can swap your levers on the handlebars and brake as easily as on a motorbike.

Reach Adjust:
The fit and ergonomics of the brake lever is a very personal matter. Riders have individual position preferences as well as unique hand sizes and finger lengths. With the reach adjustment, the lever can be easily adjusted - for maximum control with just one finger.

SwingLink™:
If you pull the SRAM brake lever, you will notice the difference immediately. A shorter idle travel and optimized brake pad actuation. Due to the new cam design, a shorter lever travel is required to push the brake pads towards the brake rotor. It's nice, but for perfect braking performance, it takes more than just power. Because you need control. Many braking systems offer a shorter travel - but at the expense of modulation. SwingLink™ solves this problem with its special cam shape. When the brake pads touch the brake rotor, the force is modulated, thus avoiding the " on-off" brake feeling. This creates the perfect balance between power and precision.

Contact Point Adjustment:
Some people like the immediate power transmission of a short lever travel. Others, however, prefer the feeling of a longer lever travel. With the contact point adjustment you can determine the position where your fingers should be when the brakes are actuated. This way, you can quickly and easily adjust the feel of your brakes without having to move the pads. In addition, both brake levers can be adjusted so that they feel exactly the same.

Lever Pivot Bearings:
Precision sealed bearings at the lever pivot enhance the clean, crisp lever actuation and consistent, light, one-finger feel.

DOT 5.1:
Heat is the enemy of every braking system. Through better heat management, your journey will also be much safer. It was found that DOT 5.1 takes three times longer to reach boiling point than DOT 4. This ensures smooth and unbroken braking power under even more extreme conditions.
