It is extremely light, silent and offers a clear performance advantage. The nine central pinions were made from a single block of high-quality tool steel. They offer higher stiffness while weighing less than a titanium cassette. Between each sprocket in the sprocket block is a StealthRing elastomer that dampens vibration and noise. Openings on the rear sprocket provide reduced weight and additional stiffness.
The cassette is the final piece in the drivetrain puzzle and, in combination with the SRAM Red rear derailleur, enables ultra-fast and whisper-quiet shifting processes, with which you are guaranteed to always get the right gear ratio.

Inspired by the combination of the XG1090 (SRAM Red) and XG 1099 (SRAM XX) cassette models, this hollow construction made from heat-treated, high-quality tool steel features CNC-milled sprockets and rear openings for lighter weight and added stiffness. It is the stiffest and lightest cassette SRAM has ever produced.
These specially manufactured and incredibly robust elastomers between the sprockets of the cassette are vibration- and sound-absorbent.

Here's how it works: Truvativ's crank engineers have thrown out the old standards and developed a chainring geometry from scratch. They have precisely matched the differently sized chainrings to each other and reworked the points where chain and chainring meet. By adjusting the teeth of the chainring to the chain link pins (instead of to the middle of the chainring) you get twice as many shifting possibilities.
