The sport of cycling continues to develop and now includes both road racing and gravel. At the same time, bicycle manufacturers have to meet the requirements of users with shorter body height. These two aspects were key considerations in the development of the Zipp 303 Firecrest® 650B Carbon Clincher Tubeless Disc wheel.
The 303 Firecrest 650B goes beyond where the asphalt road ends. The smaller rim size allows more space in the frame and fork, allowing wider tyres to be mounted with all their advantages: comfort, puncture resistance and cornering performance. These wider tyres also ensure that the overall diameter (i.e. wheel including tyre) is similar to that of a standard combination of a 700c wheel and narrow racing tyre.
On asphalt, the 303 Firecrest 650B is ideal for shorter cyclists who prefer smaller frames. These athletes no longer need to use 700c standard wheels and can finally benefit from the better handling.
