The UST valve (square stem version) with removable valve core (RVC) facilitates the use of sealant. Mavic recommends replacing UST valves once a year to ensure that the UST system is reliably sealed.

    Short valve looses air during pumping with a portable pump

    Please note that this valve is especially for Mavic UST rims before 2012, and has a flat valve base to fit.

    Newer rim beds are typically convex, so the seal might not be ideal. Mavic also offers a valve with a rounded base to fit more recent models:
