A practical tool: the RT-1/RT-2 Headset Cup Remover from ParkTool


This tool simplifies the process of disassembling the headset cup. The expansion tube is inserted into the head tube and rests on the shell, which is knocked loosed with a light tap from a hammer. Tempered nickel-plated steel alloy.

1 1/8" :
  • Compatibility: fits 1" , 1-1/8" , 1-1/4" as well as various low profile and integrated headset cups
  • for use with 27 - 38 mm (1" - 1 1/2" ) inner headset cup diameters
  • S.H.I.S Terminology: removes EC29, EC30, EC34, EC44, ZS41 & ZS44 headset cups
  • Manufacturer Designation: RT-1

1.5" :
  • Compatibility: fits 1 1/4" and 1.5" as well as various low profile and integrated headset cups
  • for use with 38 - 55 mm (1 1/2" - 2 3/16" ) inner headset cup diameters
  • S.H.I.S Terminology: removes ZS44, ZS49, ZS55, ZS56, EC49 & EC56 headset cups
