Maintenance Oil for 3- to 8-speed gear hubs by Shimano - For maintaining internally geared hubs


Shimano maintenance oil lets you perform a proper oil change on 3-, 5-, 7- and 8-speed internally geared hubs. To do this, submerge the inner gear unit right side down to the first sprocket and hold it in the oil for 90 seconds. Then drain the excess oil for about 1 minute. This maintenance oil is reusable. However, it must not be used to treat Shimano 11-speed internally geared hubs; a special oil is available for them.
