The Shimano CN-6701 chain is designed for 2x10-speed drivetrains. Thanks to optimised outer lugs, it delivers improved performance for road bikes while maintaining the same durability and weight (compared to the CN-6700). HG technology ensures optimised contact with the chainring and cassette teeth and therefore smooth shifting. Caution, CN-6701 is directional, which must be taken into account during assembly.

HG
The weight of the HG (Hyperglide) chains has been reduced by perforating the link plates. The tabs ensure optimised contact with the teeth and enable smooth shifting even under heavy load. In addition, HG chains offer higher efficiency. They are fully matched to HG cassettes for fast shifting.

Directional
The chain has an asymmetrical design. The specially-shaped tabs optimise engagement on the sprocket and result in even smoother shifting, even under load. The inner side is optimised for rear HG (Hyperglide) shifting and ensures fast and precise gear changes. The outer side is optimised for chainring changes. The sides are marked accordingly to ensure that the chain is fitted correctly. The side with the marking is the outside.
Warning: The high shifting performance is only achieved with correct chain assembly. If the chain is fitted the wrong way round, it can come off and serious injury can result.
