We have equipped the bc original 29" Loamer MK2 Center Lock Disc wheelset with upgraded Boost hubs. It's now also available in a version with a Shimano Micro Spline freehub and is approved for a higher rider weight limit. A 3-pawl system is used on the rear wheel, which has the advantage of greater load capacity compared to ratchets. Otherwise, the Loamer MK2 is just as up to the task as its predecessor, delivering an especially high level of reliability and durability - and at an impressive overall weight. Nothing was left to chance in creating this wheelset: The components were precisely matched to one another, the wheels were laced by hand in Germany and extensive tests were performed to guarantee a long service life and exceptional reliability. In recent years, MTB wheels and tyres have become larger and heavier, resulting in a slower ride. We at bc want to counteract this development with the Loamer. The light and stable wheels make your MTB agile and manoeuvrable again, and at a very fair price! Thanks to the special rim design, however, stability has not been sacrificed in order to achieve a low weight. The wheelset has been extensively tested under the toughest conditions. MG-Washer
The nipple holes, typically the weak points on aluminium or carbon rims, are reinforced on this particular rim with an MG washer. This is the solution that uses the least amount of material, leaving virtually no impact from weight. The MG-Washer is concave on both sides. This means that it can be installed in both directions, and the contact surface on the rim side moves away from the nipple hole of the rim, thus providing additional relief. Another advantage is the even friction between the nipple and washer, which prevents the nipple from "seizing". Rounded Rim Profile The rounded rim profile has flared rim flanges with optimised flange height and wall thickness. The wall thickness on the rim flange has been increased, in the side area reduced. The flared rim flanges shorten the distance between left and right rim flange, which saves material and weight. The tyre can also take on a rounder shape, improving comfort and cornering grip.
