The clever Chain Wear Indicator 2.0 by 3min19sec
With the Chain Wear Indicator 2.0 by 3min19sec you measure within a very short time how much your current bike chain is already worn out. To do this, place the small nose with the notch on one of the rollers of the chain. Then you guide the chain wear indicator down in the direction of the chain. If the long nose gets stuck, you can continue to ride the chain. If the nose falls through, a chain elongation of 0.75% is reached. In this case, you should change the chain to prevent premature sprocket wear. The chain length should be measured at several points on the chain to avoid irregularities. The chain hooks on the back of the tool allow you to relax and rivet the chain when you need to exchange it.
As an additional feature, the wear indicator has two limits for Hayes, Magura, Avid or Shimano brake rotors: As soon as the brake rotor fits into the corresponding groove, it is time to change the it in order to be able to continue to decelerate safely.
