The Shimano SLX FC-M7120-1 Crank - Higher safety and efficiency

Shimano's SLX FC-M7120 12-speed crank produces a chainline of 55mm when ridden with a single chainring. This is 3 mm further out than with FC-M7100-1, which makes the crank is especially suitable for frames with 148 mm over locknut dimension. A direct-mount system is used, which significantly speeds up the process of changing the chainring. In combination with a single chainring that has Shimano Dynamic Chain Engagement+ technology (not included), good chain retention, efficiency and low noise are guaranteed. Hollow-forged crank arms reduce weight while providing the most efficient power transmission. The FC-M7120 crank was designed for leisure and training, not so much for racing. It can also be fitted with two chainrings, resulting in the model FC-M7120-B2 for a 51.8 mm chainline.

Shimano Hollowtech II is a crank bottom bracket system designed to achieve an ideal ratio of stiffness, weight and rotational efficiency. It is based on an integration of the bottom bracket and the right crank arm and works with a 24 mm axle or bearing diameter, which has proven to be optimal in terms of stability. In many cases, the bearing cups are on the outside so that the load is better distributed. High-quality precision seals ensure a long service life.
