Specialized Diverge E5 EVO 28" / 27.5" Frameset
The Diverge E5 EVO Frameset by Specialized - The future of gravel riding starts now
The Specialized Diverge EVO frame in E5 aluminium and the FACT™ carbon fork form the perfect basis for a state-of-the-art gravel bike. With its longer reach, lower bottom bracket and flatter head tube angle, the geometry is based on that of mountain bikes and is designed for 1x drivetrains. It gives you even more control in technically demanding terrain. In addition, the Diverge EVO has been equipped with Future-Shock 2.0 technology, a spring-based damping hydraulic system. This is mounted in the head tube and absorbs shocks without affecting propulsion. You can combine this frameset with up to 47 mm wide 28" tyres and also with 650B wheels.

Technology:
FACT™FACT is an acronym for " Functional Advanced Composite Technology" and summarises all the know-how that Specialized has in the use of carbon fibre. It is a holistic approach, which primarily concerns the bike frames, but is found in many components such as handlebars, stems, saddles etc. The starting point is always the awareness for the needs of riders and the capability to fulfil them. Next, the selection of fibres, resins and fabric layers takes place; in this process the quality of the carbon and the arrangement of the fibre layers play an important role. It is important to find the right set-up for the project at hand and the intended location or rather the area of application. It is often necessary to differentiate from model to model at several points. In the final step, attention is paid to processing the material in a way that allows the desired advantages in terms of low weight, rigidity and stability to be achieved.
Future Shock 2.0
The Future Shock 2.0 System is an adjustable hydraulic damping system for road and gravel bikes developed by Specialized in collaboration with McLaren Applied Technologies. It is based on a cartridge with several springs, which is used in the head tube. When you ride over a bump in the road, it offers up to 20 mm of travel - in a vertical direction to be specific. This results in a shock-absorbing effect without - as would be the case with horizontal compliance - any loss of speed. You stay fast, but ride more comfortably, especially on long distances. Numb hands and tired arms are prevented, which in turn increases performance. Compared to suspension fork systems, Future Shock also has the advantage that the geometry of the wheel and thus the handling can remain unchanged.
