A great workshop accessory: the AV-5 Axle & Spindle Vise Inserts by ParkTool

Practical workshop accessory for most hub and pedal axles as well as for all freehub and lockring removers from Park Tool. Consisting of an extruded aluminium profile with locating lugs and magnets for easier operation on the vise, the AV-5 offers various jaw openings as well as a mini V-block and 1" hex.

Features:

suitable for wheel and pedal axles with the following jaw widths: 5 / 9 / 10 / 12 / 14 / 20 / 25 / 30 / 36 mm
compatible with Park Tool FR-1 and FR-2 tools
simply insert the axle into one of the three holders and fix it in the vice
integrated spring keeps the jaws parallel and ensures easy handling when opening and closing the vice

Für 30€ kann man mehr erwarten.

Die Kanten der Backen sind nicht entgratet. Das bedeutet, dass man die Oberfläche der gespannten Werkstücke beim Spannen eventuell beschädigt. Das ist ja nicht Sinn der Sache.

Es lässt sich zwar lösen, indem man mit der Feile selbst die Kanten entgratet. Aber für das Geld ist das wirklich peinlich und sollte nicht sein. Schade Parktool.

Ich hab's sofort zurück gesendet.

Musste leider erstmal die Kanten und Farbnasen entgraten, da dichtende glatte Rohroberflächen sonst schnell beschädigt sind (bspw. Reverb Service), daher enttäuschend bei dem Preis für dieses Werkzeug. Ebenso könnte eine dritte Haltefinne in der Mitte sein, da man häufig außerhalb des Schraubstocks klemmen muss (aus Platzgründen) und man je nach Durchmesser gezwungen ist, die Backen ensprechend zu positionieren. Da hält eine Finne dann nur schlecht. Hat seinen Dienst aber letztendlich gut erfüllt.

Eine Vielzahl an Radien für verschiedene Durchmesser ermöglicht auch das schonende einspannen von Teilen bei der Wartung von Dämpfer Gabel und Variostützen. Wird von Rock shox empfohlen.

Die Haltebleche des Achshalters sind etwas spröde, sodass man etwas vorsichtig sein muss, um die nicht abzubrechen. Auch hätten die etwas stärker und länger sein, damit die Halter besser auf dem Schraubstock halten.
Da ist der günstigere von Parktool besser.
