Praxis Works 1x 104 BCD MTB Wave Tech chainring - light but durable

The 1x 104 BCD MTB Wave Tech chainring by Praxis Works is a single chainring with 104 mm bolt circle diameter. Machined 7075-T6 aluminium makes it light enough for Cross Country use, but with its hard anodised finish it is also tough enough for Enduro and Downhill. This chainring, developed in cooperation with Mountain Racing Products, comes with the unique Wave™ tooth profile pattern, which actively binds each individual chain link to the chain via alternating lateral forces - unlike conventional narrow-wide-technologies, which only work with friction. At the same time a wide space opens up for dirt, sludge and debris removal. In addition, the Wave design reduces chainring wear by distributing the load optimally.

Wave™ Tech 1x
The Wave tooth profile applies the lateral force alternately from right and left to the chain links in order to actively hold the chain in place. The teeth are positioned alternately further to the right or further to the left of the chainring centre and the characteristic wave movement is created when the chainring is viewed from above while the crank is turning. This design opens up larger areas for dirt and mud cleaning and prevents chain dropping in difficult conditions. Wave results in much less wear than comparable designs and distributes the load over a larger area.
