The Crux Expert Gravel and Cross Bike by Specialized - Sporty off-road bike

The Specialized Crux Expert is suitable for gravel tours and cyclocross races, is particularly light thanks to its carbon frame and comes with a gravel-specific, electronic SRAM Rival XPLR 1x12-speed drivetrain. Roval Terra carbon wheels, aluminium handlebars and carbon seatpost complete the set-up. The Aethos was the inspiration for the tube design, resulting in an impressively low weight. The tyre clearance is also impressive: 28" tyres with 47 mm or 650B tyres with 2.1" width are no problem. Compared to the Diverge, the geometry is designed for a sportier riding position thanks to its longer reach, lower stack and higher bottom bracket, ensuring particular agility, manoeuvrability and responsiveness. Thanks to its purist, classic look, the Crux is certainly reminiscent of a racing bike, which is also helped by the fact that it does without Future Shock and SWAT technology. With this performance-oriented off-road racer, you climb up hills weightlessly and fly over bumps just like that.

Technology:

FACT™
FACT is an acronym for " Functional Advanced Composite Technology" and summarises all the know-how that Specialized has in the use of carbon fibre. It is a holistic approach, which primarily concerns the bike frames, but is found in many components such as handlebars, stems, saddles etc. The starting point is always the awareness for the needs of riders and the capability to fulfil them. Next, the selection of fibres, resins and fabric layers takes place; in this process the quality of the carbon and the arrangement of the fibre layers play an important role. It is important to find the right set-up for the project at hand and the intended location or rather the area of application. It is often necessary to differentiate from model to model at several points. In the final step, attention is paid to processing the material in a way that allows the desired advantages in terms of low weight, rigidity and stability to be achieved.

Rider-First Engineered™
Rider-First Engineered describes the design approach used by Specialized to precisely match each frame size to the target group. Simply put, smaller frames for smaller riders are built in a different way than larger frames for larger riders. This is done on the basis of performance parameters determined in practical tests, taking into account the forces acting on different areas of the bike when riders of different sizes ride it. Based on this analysis, the optimum tube dimensions and the appropriate carbon fibre covering for the respective frame size are determined. This way you can be sure that no matter what your height is, you will receive a bike that delivers optimal and controllable performance suited to your size.
