The S-Works Pathfinder Tyre by Specialized - Fast, light and with extra puncture protection

The S-Works Pathfinder from Specialized is an especially light and especially fast 28" gravel tyre for use on gravel, asphalt and light terrain. Compared to the Pro version, it features a finer profile, which saves weight and benefits speed. Nevertheless, the grippy shoulder areas provide reliable grip on loose terrain. For the rubber compound, Specialized relies on the GRIPTON® T5 and T7 dual compound known from MTB sport, which dampens vibrations and thus has a stabilising effect, but at the same time rolls easily. The 120 tpi nylon carcass with Grid Race puncture protection technology and BlackBelt offers safety and a smooth ride both on- and off-road. Additional polyamide threads are used, which are very resistant to wear and tear, weigh very little and provide direct feedback with their elasticity. This means that you are optimally protected from unpleasant surprises even in races, and at the same time benefit from optimal rolling behaviour. The S-Works Pathfinder comes with a classic brown sidewall and can be ridden without a tube.

GRIPTON® T5
GRIPTON T5 is a variation of the Specialized proven GRIPTON rubber compound based on synthetic rubber and an activated silica compound. This is a cross-country compound that rolls fast, is very durable and offers good traction. The focus is on speed, agility and puncture protection. T stands for " Tread Compound" and the number 5 indicates on a scale of 1 to 10 (the extremes 1 and 10 do not exist) the degree of damping and traction, which falls in the middle range here.

GRIPTON® T7
GRIPTON T7 is a variation of the Specialized proven GRIPTON rubber compound based on synthetic rubber and an activated silica compound. It is a trail compound with good rolling characteristics which offers plenty of grip, filters high-frequency vibrations and allows for a smooth ride. Its damping properties are an optimal combination of energy conservation and pedalling efficiency. The " T" stands for " Tread Compound," and the number 7, on a scale from 1 to 10 (the extremes 1 and 10 do not exist), indicates the degree of damping and road grip, which in this case offers a very high (but not the maximum) value.
